Welcome to Miami! Miami is white sand beaches, vibrant colors, arts, and more than anything... a heatwave of non-stop good times. When I link up with The Society Fashion Week, it's always magic. They know how to descend on a city and light the fire. The runway was pure excitement. I engaged with fellow models, fashion designers, hair and makeup artists, and numerous production professionals who made it all happen. The most incredible aspect of the show is the fresh and exciting perspective. When creatives get together, it's amazing how they interpret style and I get to experience it all firsthand. Special thank you to ShaLaJa Swimwear for having me walk in their show. Check them out! Much Love! Rio
This year has been one of my busiest years, but also one of my most enjoyable and rewarding. I set out on a personal mission to not only achieve my goals, but also to inspire others to set and achieve theirs. They say the energy that you bestow is what you manifest and I find so much truth in that. I made it my mission to not only think positive thoughts but to also surround myself with positive people, and do all things with positive intentions. "Positive" is more than a hashtag on my posts. It's a continual direction of higher growth and consciousness. The energy that I embodied, left me with an important mission to share this energy in hopes that it transmits and inspires others. Even if I reached one person, that would prove to be a success because positive energy is the gift that keeps on giving. People question their every move. They seek approval from people who can't change their outcome. Removing those fields and creating a field of affirmation and love is where the magic happens. 2018 also brought great opportunities such as projects with Universal Studios (Deal or No Deal, Grinch Holiday commercial), a role in David Meets Man that will be airing 2019 on the Own Network, winning several divisions in various model competitions/showcases, walking in LA Fashion Week, an appearance on the Steve Harvey Show, and I was brought on as a trainer/mentor for Set it Off Productions' Kids Fashion Show. I'm ready to climb higher in 2019! I can't thank you all enough for all of the love and support that I received and continue to receive on this journey! Please drop a comment on your 2019 goals!! Happy holidays and happy new year to you all! Let's make 2019 our best one yet! Rio Winfrey ◆ www.RIOWINFREY.com If these babies could talk.... Anyone who knows me, knows I like the color red. To me, red is fire, passion, strength, and power. It reminds me to be thankful of a beating heart and to bring that power and energy to everything I do. A couple weeks ago, I was off to Los Angeles for LA Fashion Week. I decided to wear my favorite sneakers. Why not?! When I arrived, I wanted to embrace the city as I often do when I travel. See the famed sites and find the areas that are insta-worthy! Yeah.. sometimes we all do it for the Gram... LOL! Hollywood, Santa Monica, the Angle Wings project sites. Fitting it all in with as many casting calls as possible was the challenge, but not to worry. I was armed with the walking reminder that my power, energy, and passion make it all happen. My red kicks took me everywhere. With my modeling experience, I knew to bring several shoe changes and be prepared to compliment any look the designers wanted. I spent time with the press. I connected with fashion and photography notables and it was amazing. Funny enough, the center of almost every conversation was my red sneakers. Every designer I worked with insisted I wear my red sneakers while on the runway! My bold energy was contagious. As I reflected on my trip I realized, people equated me with the message of my fashion choice. Red is a bold color and you have to be bold in this industry. You have to be courageous enough to be told 'no'. Be resilient enough to push through the roadblocks. And be focused enough to claim your dreams. And that's in any industry. Stay tuned for footage from LA Fashion Week and my bold moves.
